Recital Series - Public Concerts
In honor of the 100th year anniversary of Debussy’s death, Michael Cerveris will offer a performance of the complete Book Two of the composer's Preludes. Completed in April of 1913, pianists frequently program these pieces in groups of three or four. While there is no proof they were intended to be performed as a cycle, taken as a whole they provide a shifting array of moods, character pieces, and virtuosic turns that challenge the imagination and concentration of both performers and audiences.
